BEST 5 Myon Baits Team "Turkish Bag 15-17 May 2020"

For some people, fishing is just a good excuse to get out of the house. To spend a few days in the company of friends, socializing and relaxing by the water, an opportunity to escape from everyday life, to reconnect with nature.  

For us, Myon Baits is much more. It's a way of life!

We had been preparing for a friendly match between Myon Baits members at the Turkish Bag since the fall of 2019 for the period May 14-17, 2020.

The craziness with the pandemic had stopped us from going out and doing what we love most. I mean let's go fishing. Until the last moment we hoped to be able to go out with friends to do a fishing game. "The stars aligned" (the state of emergency had been lifted) and on the night of May 14/15 (Thursday to Friday) I left for the Turkish Bag with a crazy desire to fish.

Friday morning we arrived at the pond, set up, baited with boiled seed lumps, crushed 20mm boilies, Groundbait ECOSquid together with ECOSquid activator and released the mounts into the water. The draw had placed us on stand 24, a place which according to the pool specialists seemed like a very good one.

After the basic nadir I had a few presentations, somewhere between 12.5 - 14.00 kg. The mounts were fine, for finicky carp that hadn't started feeding as they are known to do at this location.

In the first evening - "at the first weigh-in" we were informed that it is possible to be in first place in terms of quality. After an exchange of looks with my partner Ștefan (Firefighters Team), we decided to try to make a good impression from a game that was announced as "fun". I had at hand everything necessary for this.  It hadn't been a very successful day from our point of view, so the news that we were up.. had given us a dose of adrenaline, some sense of satisfaction.

For the first night we had thought to fish with 20 mm cobra boilies from the ECOSquid (Squid&Octopus&Strawberry) range.

The results did not take long to appear. After the activation of the nada bed, with few exceptions, most of them started to have presentations of different sizes, the fish responded very well to the nada, the average fish being over 15 kg.

At one point the wind began to pick up and by morning no more notable results were recorded.

The 2nd day started with presentations in most stands, especially the stands that were somewhat in the middle and near them. The teams that were placed on the sidelines had less noteworthy results, but even they had presentations.

The night of the 2nd day was very productive and we managed to put carp on the mattress that averaged somewhere between 16-18kg. We continued to cobra and the results were not long in coming. Both team members managed P.B. with catches of 20 kg and 19 kg respectively.

For the hook I mostly used Hookbait Boilies Red SquidPill and Critique Dumbell ECOSquid.

at the end, Firefighters Team achieved first place in the Best 5 section.

 

The spirit of fair play dominated throughout the game.

The key to the game was undoubtedly the positive approach which can give unexpected results if you fight to the end, in the late spring days, ......despite the oscillating temperatures between day and night !!!.
