At Myon Baits, Bag stayed at Kilogram!

An optical illusion on store shelves
We live in a time when prices fluctuate – and let's face it, they usually go up. In this context, manufacturers in all fields are looking for solutions to maintain their profits. You've probably noticed at the supermarket that the chocolate is thinner or the bottle of juice is smaller, even though the price is the same.

Unfortunately, this phenomenon - called economic "Shrinkflation" (decrease in quantity at the same price) – has also reached the waterfront in the fishing net industry.
More and more bags of nada, which used to weigh the standard 1 KG, now have a "discreet" 900g, 850g or even 800g. The packaging is just as big, the air in the bag is more, and the price... the price has not changed.
Myon Baits Commitment: No shortcuts
At Myon Baits, I made a principled decision: We refuse to enter this game.
We believe that respect for the fisherman and the community that supports us is more important than an artificially adjusted profit margin. When you order a bag of boilies, pellets or groundbait from us, you get exactly what it says on the label: 1000 grams (1 KG) of product. Not one gram less.
We want to be completely transparent: if we have to raise prices because of raw materials, then we will raise them. We have no choice. But we will never reduce the standard quantity of 1 kg just to keep an attractive "psychological price" on the bag. We prefer the painful truth to a nicely packaged illusion.
Fisherman's Math: What does "only" missing 200g actually mean?
You may be wondering: "Does 200 grams really matter?" The short answer is: YES, enormously.
Let's do a simple calculation. If a competitor sells 800g for 30 lei, and we sell 1000g also for 30 lei:
- Percentage difference: We offer you with 25% more product for the same money.
- In practical terms, those missing 200g (which you get from us) mean:
- Approximately 3-4 PVA bags well loaded.
- A healthy handful of boilies to maintain the nada bed at a critical time.
- The difference between running out of fish on Sunday morning or catching the last fish of the game.
And that's just the calculation per bag... But what if you're preparing for a long game and buy 10 bags? At 10 bags of 800g, you lost 2 KG of course The difference becomes devastating for strategy and pocket.
Basically, for every 4 bags bought from the competition (at 800g), you lose the equivalent of a whole bag.
Bottom line: Be an informed shopper
We don't mind the competition; it makes us better. But we are disturbed by practices that mislead the fisherman. The purpose of this article is not to criticize other options on the market, but to encourage you to make an informed purchase.
Our advice? Always check the label. Don't just look at the bag size, read the net weight.
We, the Myon Baits team, will continue to deliver premium quality, tested recipes and correct quantities.
Thanks for choosing the right quality (and quantity)!
